Tax Assessment
Responsibilities
The Tax Assessor is responsible for identifying, listing and valuing all real properties within the Township. Sales, income and cost data are analyzed in order to determine the assessed value of each property included on the Tax List, which is presented to the Morris County Board of Taxation each January. This Tax List also includes a directory for property identification, information concerning exempt properties, tax data and a schedule of all tax ratables within the Township.
Appeals
All appeals of assessed value must be filed with the Morris County Board of Taxation by April 1 of each year. Petitions of appeal with instructions may be obtained at the County office.
