Governor’s Executive Order 107

3/21/2020 Executive Order NO. 107

-          All NJ residents shall remain home unless they are:

o   Obtaining goods or services from essential businesses

o   Obtaining takeout

o   Seeking medical attention

o   Visiting family members as a caretaker or romantic partner

o   Reporting to or performing their job

o   Engaging in outdoor activities (social distance permitting)

o   Leaving home for an educational, religious, or political reason

o   For safety

o   At the direction of law enforcement or a government agency

-          The following businesses are essential and may remain open:

o   Grocery stores, farmers markets

o   Pharmacies and dispensaries

o   Medical supply stores

o   Retail functions of gas stations

o   Convenience stores

o   Ancillary stores within healthcare facilities

o   Hardware and home improvement stores

o   Retail functions of banks and other financial institutions

o   Stores that sell supplies for children <5 y.o.

o   Pet stores

o   Liquor stores

o   Car dealerships for auto maintenance and repair services, and auto mechanics

o   Retail functions of printing and office supply shops

o   Educational institutions providing online-only learning options

-          The following should function at a limited capacity:

o   Public transportation should be used only as a last resort

o   Schools may remain open only if they are operating on a limited basis for food or essential care services that are non-educational

o   Essential businesses that cannot work from home shall reduce staff on site to the minimal necessary number

o  Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters, and First Responders

o  Cashiers

o Construction, utility, and repair workers

o  Warehouse workers

o  Lab researchers and information technology maintenance workers

o Janitorial and custodial staff

o Necessary administrative staff

-          The following activities are prohibited:

o   Parties, celebrations, or social events are cancelled

o   Non-essential retail businesses

o   On-premise consumption of alcohol

o   Casinos, racetracks

o   Gyms, fitness centers

o   Movie theaters, performing arts centers, concert venues

o   Nightclubs, performing art centers

o   Public libraries and computer labs

o   Indoor retail shopping malls

o   Amusement parks, zoos, children’s play centers, bowling alleys

o   Personal care services that inherently non-conform to social distancing (salons, spas, tattoo shops)

o   Social clubs such as the VFW, American Legion

o   Public, private, and parochial preschools, elementary and secondary schools

o   The Morris County Order previously issued for the closure of playgrounds remains in effect.
