[ARCHIVED] Dial-A-Ride Driver – Part time, afternoons Needed

Dial-A-Ride Driver – Part time, afternoons: Entry-level position, maximum of five (5) afternoons per week (Monday through Friday); maximum of six (6) hours per day; maximum of twenty (20) hours per week; salary range $15.67 to $21.62 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Duties include but are not limited to: driving individual and groups of passengers in various Dial-A-Ride bus and non-bus vehicles to and from appointments as dispatched daily; knowledge of and compliance with all applicable traffic laws, ordinances, and regulations; maintaining daily paperwork; assisting passengers into and out of vehicle and assisting passengers with shopping bags/packages to their door; communicating accurately, professionally, and courteously with passengers and dispatch; fueling and cleaning of Dial-A-Ride vehicles; knowledge of operating characteristics and maintenance requirements of vehicles and recognizing/reporting operating and/or safety deficiencies in Dial-A-Ride vehicles; and monitoring passenger activities to maintain orderly conduct in vehicles.

Required: candidate must be 18 or older with a valid NJ Drivers License and a clean driving record; candidate must submit to and pass pre-employment substance testing, pre-employment and annual criminal background check and pre-employment and annual driver’s license check.  Preferred but not required: NJ Commercial Drivers License, a minimum of one year of successful professional driving experience, and a minimum of one year of successful experience working with the elderly and/or the disabled.
