8/7/20: IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT VEGETATIVE WASTE COLLECTION
Dear Township Resident:
While we recognize that many property owners have begun the extensive clean up from this past Tuesday’s tropical storm, we realize that there is a considerable amount of vegetative waste that has to be addressed before it becomes a safety concern. Moving forward, in negotiations with our solid waste and recycling contractor, they have agreed to take a maximum of 6 bundles or 6 containers or 6 biodegradable bags per property.
Please note, brush shall be bundled and tied properly, so that each bundle may be picked up and handled by 1 person. No bundle shall exceed 50 pounds in weight, 4 feet in length, or 2 feet in diameter. Individual branches or limbs shall not exceed 4 inches in diameter.
As a reminder, the collection of vegetative waste is the same day as your first regularly scheduled solid waste pickup, which is either Monday in Section 1 or Tuesday in Section 2.
The Township shall continue to address those trees and tree limbs that are our responsibility. Private property owners shall not place their tree limbs in the right of way as those items are the responsibility of the private property owner.
In closing, we impose these limits because we realize that the collection of all the damaged debris will not be picked up in 1 or 2 collection cycles, and to be fair to everyone, these limits are imposed to maintain equity across the Township.
Thank you for your assistance and patience.
